According to the classification adopted by the Marine Engineering Bureau to AZOV MAX class vessels, the main characteristics (overall length of 142.00 m, the overall width 18.00 m) are determined by the travel conditions in the shallow Sea of ??Azov Russian ports without entering the gates of the Volga-Don Shipping the channel.
Vessels optimized to work with draft 3,8-4,5 m. Deadweight at draft 4.77 m is 8020 tons, with a draft of 4.50 m - 7400 tons.

The growth of cargo transportation through the shallow-water ports of the Azov Sea (Taganrog, Mariupol, Eisk, Rostov-on-Don, Berdyansk and others) led to necessity of creation project cargo vessel adapted to operating conditions in this basin.

The main feature of the Sea of ??Azov and its port is the small depth of the channels and berthing near the front ports. This fact, together with the desire to get the maximum deadweight, while retaining enough good sea keeping and performance has resulted in a vessel specially adapted for the transportation of goods from the ports of Azov to the ports of Europe, Asia Minor and North Africa.

No requirement for air draft allowed to develop much more aesthetic high feed superstructure than on ships river-sea. Dry cargo ship designed to transport general, bulk, timber, grain and bulk cargoes, containers of international standard height of 8.5 and 9 feet, dangerous goods of Class 1.4S, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and according to IMDG cargo category in the BC Code. The vessel has four holds a total of 10 930 cubic meters. Hold equipped hatch covers of "Folding" and accommodation for their timber with a height of 2.5 m or a caravan of one tier of containers of maximum weight. The second floor is designed for distributed load intensity of 10.0 t / m ², which can carry a heavy metal, as well as to work to grab a mass of 16 tons.
